BBFrank Yallop named the new coach in LA

Star player is Landon Donovan? Check

Head coach is Frank Yallop? Check

A day after Alexi Lalas fired the coach that everyone expected him to fire sooner rather than later due to their past history together, Alexi Lalas hired a new coach that has a strong history with his star player in Frank Yallop.

Yallop was the head coach in San Jose during Donovan's tenure as the Earthquakes' superstar. During Yallop's run as Earthquakes head coach, the team won the MLS Cup in 2001 and 2003. Yallop also has the third highest winning percentage of any head coach in MLS history.

Is the next thing on Lalas' to do list to trade for players such as Brian Ching and Jimmy Conrad who were big pieces of the San Jose Earthquakes machine during the Yallop-Donovan years?

Regardless, of what Lalas is able to do in the future, Yallop has his work cut out for him as the Galaxy play Chivas tomorrow night on ESPN2. Not only does Yallop only have a day to get to know his squad, he is also taking over a team that has lost six straight and has only scored one goal over those six matches.

Guaranteed Seat Licenses for the MLS All-Star Game and MLS Cup?

You have got to be kidding me

MLS is charging $500 apiece for 250 "Guaranteed Seat Licenses" that give the proud owner the right to purchase tickets to the MLS All-Star game and the MLS Cup for the rest of their lives.

Now I'm all for trying to make a buck, but is there really a huge market for something like this? I just don't see MLS being to the point yet where there is such a huge demand for All-Star and MLS Cup tickets that people will want to shell out $500 for the right to buy tickets to this event.

Heck, that's $203 more than it cost me to buy three Rhinos season tickets.......

FC Dallas to wear Tigres colors versus Chivas USA

They look better than the hoops

FC Dallas will be sporting a new look when they take on Chivas USA on Sunday.

Instead of their usual red and white hooped uniforms, they will be wearing blue and yellow kits inspired by Mexican club Tigres UANL. FC Dallas entered into a working relationship with Tigres during this past offseason, and they are wearing the new third kits in honor of the relationship.

Hopefully the new kits will help FC Dallas draw more than the 11,085 fans that came out last weekend to watch FC Dallas lose to the Columbus Crew 2-1. Although, Chivas USA would have loved to have a crowd that large as they only drew 8906 fans as they defeated the Colorado Rapids 4-1 in the Home Depot Center.
