BOB'S BACK!

(Rochester, NY) Rochester's favorite sports columnist and sports radio personality returns to the air waves this Saturday, June 13.

The Bob Matthews Show will be live every Saturday on Fox Sports 1280 WHTK and worldwide on iHeartRadio, from 12-1pm EST.

"We are excited to have Bob back on the radio, where he belongs!" said Phil Mercado, iHeartRadio Program Director.

In May, Bob Matthews left his sports talk radio show on WHAM 1180 after 35 years, where he hosted approximately 8,200 shows. The Brighton High School graduate worked for 42 years between The Times-Union and Democrat and Chronicle, writing popular sports columns. Matthews was selected the Press-Radio Club Sportswriter of the Year five times, and Sportscaster of the Year, and was one of the first people inducted into the Frontier Field Walk of Fame. Matthews originally retired in May, due to the lack of sports and thoughts of Coronavirus.

"I didn't know how much I would miss being on the radio, and talking about sports, or frustrations about the current lack of sports that we all love," said Bob Matthews, "for the next couple of Saturdays this summer, I hope to talk with longtime fans and hopefully some new folks about local and national sports. I am looking forward to being back on the air, and to revive my career!"

SoccerSam Fantauzzo, Jeff DiVeronica, Kevin Oklobzija, and several of Bob's radio and media friends convinced him to leave retirement, and return to radio! "Rochester loves this guy, a true legend." said SoccerSam.
