Heading into the weekend, the Western New York Flash knew they had to win on Satuday night versus the Boston Breakers and then get some help on Sunday when the Chicago Red Stars played FC Kansas City.

Well, the Flash took care of business with a 2-1 win over the Breakers and the Red Stars gave the Flash the help they needed in a 2-1 win over FCKC.

The Flash actually ended the season in a three-way tie with FC Kansas City and Portland Thorns FC at 38 points. But, the Flash won the tie-breaker thanks to a league best +16 goal differential.

The Flash will now host Sky Blue FC on Saturday at 8pm in the NWSL semifinals. If they win, the NWSL Final will be at Sahlen's Stadium at 8pm on Saturday August 31st.
